La vie en Rose – Edith Piaf
Through the ages, roses have been the center of the flower world. They represent all that is good in life and of course, symbolize the emotion of love. The story of the naming of the rose harkens back to the Greek Goddess Aphrodite. She gave the name of rose in honor of her son Eros, the Greek god of Love. The rose was then presented to Eros in hopes that it would always be the choice of lovers and the flower of romance. Who knew it would become the flower of choice in modern civilization and continue to symbolize love today?

Here’s a fun word game for you. Start by rearranging the letters in the word rose. This will give you Eros. Eros = Rose = Love.
